And yet, at the same time, we live surrounded by pollution. In the air we breathe, the water we drink, and even in the everyday things we rarely stop to think about — the sofa we sit on, the bed we sleep in — harmful chemicals have quietly become the norm.
For some, sensitivity to these toxins shows up in their health. For others, it’s an awareness of the toll they’re taking on the natural world around us. Either way, more and more of us are choosing a way of life that reduces our exposures.
Just as we may choose organic food we asked the question - What if we made our homes organic too?
That simple but powerful idea is where The Organic Home Store began. With a vision to create healthier, more nurturing spaces for ourselves and our loved ones— homes where we can truly rest, restore and thrive.
Nature is the Gold Standard
Our journey began with Dormiente, Germany’s leading natural sleep specialists in crafting organic mattresses and sleep systems. Dormiente Healthy Sleep Ireland was established in 1999 by Wilhelm Bodewigs, a pioneer in low-carbon manufacturing and building biology, whose life’s work was devoted to healthier living environments.
In 2024, Wilhelm entrusted the future of Dormiente in Ireland to Laura and Jimmy.
With a shared passion for wellbeing, sustainability and thoughtful living, they are proud to carry that legacy forward — carefully expanding The Organic Home Store to bring exceptional, eco-conscious products to homes across Ireland.

Laura Canavan-Hayes is the creator of The BioWeaver Method, a holistic health approach that blends Building Biology and Functional Medicine to address the root causes of chronic illness. With a background spanning global banking and the entertainment industry, her personal health journey—sparked by the loss of both parents to cancer—led her to overcome severe conditions including anaphylaxis, eczema, and allergies. Today, she is a Building Biologist, wellness coach, and speaker focused on environmental health, helping individuals create healthier living spaces and lifestyles.

Jimmy combines a background in psychology with years of experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities, alongside a long-standing passion for ergonomic furniture and thoughtful design. Over time, his interests expanded into alternative health and natural building, shaping a well-rounded, human-centered approach to his work.
These experiences ultimately led him to found the Organic Home Store, a platform dedicated to connecting people with products from companies that prioritize sustainability and planetary wellbeing
