HEIDI, the natural cot mattress

Cover opened to show the latexed coconut-fibre core.
A cot mattress has a different job from an adult one. It should be firm, so a small body doesn't sink in, and it should breathe, so warmth and moisture don't collect under your baby. HEIDI does both with a 5 cm core of coconut fibre bound with natural latex: firm and springy, but open enough for air to pass straight through.
The outer cover is 100% hemp and comes off to wash at 60 °C, the temperature that matters with a cot. Underneath is a quilted hemp inner cover. There is no polyurethane foam, and no animal fibres, so it suits vegan households too.
- Tested to DIN EN 16890, the European safety standard for children's mattresses, which covers firmness, breathability and head entrapment
- Up to 8 cm high; about 8 kg in the 70 × 140 size
- Standard cot and junior-bed sizes, or made to fit a cot that isn't a standard rectangle

| MILBEX mite treatment | + €63 | + €63 | + €63 |
MILBEX is an optional neem-oil treatment against house-dust mites. It lasts two to three months, so we suggest it only for a child with a diagnosed dust-mite allergy. A washable organic cotton protector (70 × 140) is €62. Special widths and shapes are made to order; send us your cot's inside measurements and we'll quote. Prices include VAT and delivery in Ireland; allow 6–8 weeks.

Prices in euro including VAT at 23%, delivery anywhere in Ireland and on-site assembly. “From” is the plain core with the standard cover in medium; other constructions, firmness grades and covers cost more. Dormiente sizes are continental and 200 cm long: a 140 × 200 is about 3 cm wider and 10 cm longer than an Irish 4’6” double, so ask us about bases and bedding when ordering a mattress on its own. Made to order; lead time 6–8 weeks.

Choosing your firmness
Soft, medium or firm, without the jargon
Soft
Yielding and cushioning. Sinks in to relieve pressure at the shoulder and hip, for side sleepers who want a softer cradle.
Medium
The standard grade. Even support across the whole body; works for most sleeping positions and is the best place to start.
Firm
Supportive and resilient. For back and stomach sleepers who prefer firmer support.
| You sleep… | Suggested latex grade |
|---|---|
| On your side | Soft to medium, for more give at the hip and shoulder |
| On your back | Medium to firm, for even support along the spine |
| On your front | Firm, to keep the lower back from sinking |
| All over the place | Medium, the most adaptable grade |
Wider hips than shoulders, or broader shoulders than hips? A zoned cut (Basic Z7, Orthoform, Regulus) supports each part of the body differently. The easiest way to be sure is to talk it through: book a free consultation.

Why natural latex
What makes a natural mattress different
No synthetic foams, no springs, no glues: natural latex, virgin wool and organic cotton, layered to support your spine and breathe with your body.
Read about our materials →Point-elastic support
Natural latex compresses exactly where your body presses into it and lifts where it doesn’t, so shoulders are cushioned and the lower back is held.
A climate that breathes
Virgin wool and organic cotton absorb moisture through the night and release it again, so you wake without the clammy heat of foam.
Built to last
No springs to sag and no foams to break down. Covers come off, and on most ranges they can be washed at 60 °C.

Soft to medium, which gives more at the shoulder and hip. If your hips are wider than your shoulders, a zoned core such as Basic Z7, Classic Orthoform or Deluxe Regulus helps too.
-
Dormiente sizes are continental and 200 cm long: 90, 140, 160 and 180 cm wide, for example. A 140 × 200 is slightly larger than an Irish 4’6” double. It fits a Dormiente bed exactly; for an existing Irish bed or divan, tell us the measurements and we’ll advise, including on sheets.
-
Yes. The Partner Solution puts two single cores from the same range under one continuous cover, in widths from 140 to 200 cm. It costs an extra €115 and is available on the Eco, Basic, Classic and Deluxe ranges.
-
The WB1, WB2 and Hemp Knit Washable covers wash at 60 °C. The standard wool-quilted knit covers (3A, 5A, 6A) are dry-clean only.
-
Natural latex is tapped from rubber trees. Synthetic latex is made from petrochemicals, and “blended” latex mixes the two. Dormiente mattresses use 100% natural latex.
